How do you teach a 17 year old, with limited life experiences and understanding, that they are a miraculous being of light, love, power and energy, but that they have been creating an egotistical thought system that projects illusions of the world and people they live with?
It’s called The Wizard of Oz!
Before I met with this 17 year old, traumatized by his unfaithful father, the man he thought could do no wrong, the one whom he thought was his super hero, has now demonstrated that he’s not at all what he thought his dad was. His dad had crushed and annihilated that perfect vision he created of his father.
Holy Spirit had brought the movie, The Wizard of Oz to my mind. The scene at the end of the movie where Dorthy and her friends came to the Great and Powerful Oz to receive their wishes. As the Great and Powerful Oz, tried to back pedal and get out of his obligation to them, Toto the dog pulled back the curtain to a little man controlling this illusion of a Great and Powerful Oz.
I then received a realization/revelation, that the man behind the curtain is our own egotistical thought system that’s been being created our whole life. It keeps us thinking we are these weak, helpless humans by keeping us focused on the past and future, trying to cope with trauma and also feeling “special,” either by being a victim or superior to others. As a result it leaves us feeling separated from God and humanity.
The only way to escape the “little man behind the curtain” is to see the illusions it’s creating: Unforgiveness, Bitterness, Stress, Anxiety, Bitterness, Depression, Shame, Guilt, Doubts, Worries, Fears etc. caused by trauma.
What I also realized is that, the movie is trying to help us to understand that we have the very things we long for, the things we strive to achieve, the things we deeply desire. In the movie, Scarecrow wanted a brain, the little wizard said “you have a brain you just need a diploma” and gave him one. The Tin man wanted a heart, the little wizard said “you have one,” then proceed to give him a metal heart on a chain, to remind him of what he already has. The Cowardly Lion wanted courage. The little wizard said “you’re the King of the Jungle,” and gave him a crown. All they really needed was a reminder of what they all ready possess.
I’m here to tell you, you are light, love, power, peace and joy! You have everything you desire within you because of your oneness with the God of the universe. It’s just been covered up by the egotistical thought system rooted in fear. Come home dear child, awaken to who you are, you’re not your thoughts, you are the awareness behind them and that’s a powerful thing.
As for Dorothy, she woke up!
