Let’s face it, identity is everything! Who or rather what we believe we are, is how we will live our life! For those of us who have walked the Christian path, have had it instilled in us that we are these bodies, born with a sin nature and we have an enemy that is out to get us, constantly sabotaging our life. Which causes us to automatically believe we are a victim not only to the “Devil” but also to our nature. Therefore we will never be good enough and in fact we are in need a savior! So we say a prayer or many prayers, constantly making efforts to try and change our behaviors, never able to heal these so called; sinful tendencies!
On the other hand, when we believe Jesus’ message that we are spiritual beings of light and love, made in the image of God and one with the Divine. Realizing we don’t have a sin nature, I mean how could we when we are one with God? That would make God sinful. But rather we have an egotistical mind, that we can be aware of and over come by; choosing to follow Holy Spirit’s guidance rather than the ego’s guidance, we begin to experience our freedom and peace.
What is crazy to me, is that I couldn’t see Christ’s message until I was willing to give up my ego and leave the church, a veil was upon my eyes. Jesus’ taught us over and over about our identity:
John 10:34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, I said, you are gods?”
John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me, will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
1 John 4:16 “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
John 17:23 “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
To say to a Christian that they are a god or a part of God, would be blasphemy to them. They are taught duality, not unity/oneness. In U.S. Anderson’s book; 3 Magic Words, he says, “God as you, you as God, all things are possible. Those who do not accept their True Self, cannot awaken!” He also says, “Assume the power of God which is our essence and inheritance.”
This is why the words “I am” are so powerful, because in them is the power of the Divine.
Chapter 5 of A Course In Miracles says, “You have elected to be in time rather than in eternity. You do not belong in time, your place is only eternity, where God Himself placed you forever.” Like the Bible says in Ephesians 2:6 we are raised up with Christ and seated with him in the heavenly places.
“Imagine standing at a bridge about to cross over from eternity into time and you’re shown a movie in the sky of a life lived and what was or had been completed, now you get to live out that completed life in the Divine, following Holy Spirit’s guidance, close your eyes and see the movie!” Jesus
When we imagine a happy dream where we align our “I am” beliefs and desires with the Divine, what we imagine materializes. As Wayne Dyer says in his book; Wishes Fulfilled “Everything we see was once imagined! What we imagine and believe passionately, will be our reality!”
When we realize, know and believe passionately that we are figures in a dream, and what we have imagined is finished, life is no longer challenging. We can just follow the Divines guidances and say as Jesus said, “I’m just doing what I see my Father doing!”
Remember the power of “I am!” When we allow the ego to use it and say things such as “I am sick,” “I am diseased,” “I am depressed” etc. that will be the reality we experience. Fear is not believing it was finished and having regrets! The good news is; that even though we may have moments of doubt, Holy Spirit, guides us back to truth in a vast amount of ways.
Know the “I am” that you truly are, is standing at the beginning of the bridge into time, which is really a bridge of the Holy Spirit from sub-consciousness into consciousness and Holy Spirit is always there, guiding you back home.
Close your eyes for a moment, see your perfect, holy – spiritual self, of love/light energy particles. You are about to step onto that bridge that links time and eternity. As you embark upon a journey of being human, you see the perfect dream life laid before you, which can only be hindered when you follow the ego guidance! As you passionately believe it is finished, you no longer have anything to fear, because you know you’re going to follow the Divine guidance, while at the same time living in awareness of the ego and it’s tendencies. You are safe!
