It’s normal to leave Religion and to have egotistical thoughts and feelings of bitterness and resentment. To feel betrayed, led astray and deceived.
It feels really good to allow the ego to play over and over in our minds, all the hurt and offense built up within our heart.
But truth be told, all these negative thoughts and feelings that we are agreeing with, are really only causing us pain and suffering.
I have found that in order to heal, we do have to do Spiritual Heart Surgery (processing of these thoughts, feelings, emotions and then forgive!)
Ultimately we have to realize that to continue to judge and blame, is to keep us in the same state of mind as Religion which is the; Us vs. Them mentality.
We need to come to terms with it’s not; they, them, or those people, it’s US, and we all played our part.
My eyes well up with tears as I’m coming to terms with the fact that; WE were wrong all along about our identity. We were taught that we are human beings, our nature is sinful and therefore we need to repent, or we are doomed to a place of torment called hell forever!
Jesus however, came to save us from this belief and restore our perception about our identity, and spent his life teaching that we; (all humans) are really spiritual beings, made in the image and likeness of God, and our nature is perfect, holy and pure.
As Christians it made us feel special to believe that only Christians are children of God and that we have something most people don’t, (salvation from hell) which only perpetuated the belief in duality and separateness from God and each other.
Being a faithful church member for decades, there were two things Jesus’ said that I have never heard preached on or, understood their meaning myself, these were;
“Be perfect as I am perfect!” and “Is it not written in your law; I have said you are gods?”
How could we know the real meaning of these verses if we are believing that we are just sinful humans? Now knowing our True Identity in Christ as spiritual beings, theses verses now make perfect sense.
To be perfect is to shed the Egotistical Programmed Mind that veils our True Identity in Christ.
When we know our oneness in Christ as Spiritual Beings, then understanding that we are gods, is not blasphemy, it’s our identity! This is why our thoughts are so powerful!
Those of us in Western Religion, unknowingly handed down duality teachings for centuries that; our Egotistical Programmed Mind (E.P.M.) is our sinful nature and therefore it hindered us from knowing our True Identity!
As long as we believe we are sinful human beings, we will remain a hostage to our ego; judging and being judged by one another, and we won’t be able to know our oneness with the Divine.
There are two roads; The Ego Road of duality and separation that most of us have traveled, because we didn’t know any better, and The Spiritual Road of oneness with The Divine, that we are awakening to.
When I’ve chosen The Spiritual Road less traveled, and pursued reconciliation and oneness with my husband while we were separated, or accepting and affirming my son who came out as gay, or leaving Religion to pursue oneness with The Divine, it made all the difference in my life.
