For 10 years I ran a licensed Child Care Business from my home. The life lessons these children taught me are something I hope to always remember and live out.
Children are full of love, wonder and curiosity. They spend their day living out their imagination. Their insatiable desire to learn, gives them courage to explore, get messy and take risks!
They are very honest with their thoughts and feelings, they haven’t learned to be guarded or need to protect their heart! I would often walk around with a clip board and ask them to tell me their stories during recess, they never held back, there were no filters, but rather they shared all they knew about their world, family and life!
Laughing for children comes easy, they naturally trust and love! They quickly learn that rules bring about order and security, obedience and respect for authority produces a peaceful environment!
Friends are easy to make, because they have yet to learn prejudice. They always seem to naturally find a common ground. When they approach a group of kids playing, they usually stop and observe for a moment to see the dynamics, then they jump in without fear of being rejected!
A child’s life is freedom and joy. My goal in life is to be like a little child!
