Devine Encounters

We often hate to be inconvenienced by things like a nail in our tire!  However, these situations often turn into Devine, life changing encounters.  Taking time out of my busy schedule, I took my Passat back to Discount Tires, where I purchased my tires along with an extensive warranty, that would cover these unfortunate events when they occur.

I was excited as I walked into Discount Tires, noticing I was the only customer.  I assumed my time there would be quick and I would have a few moments to enjoy a book I brought along with me.

I’m not sure if Daniel the manager was just nice, bored, curious or all of the above.  His questioning would have me to believe, above all else that he was a very driven person, always looking to learn and better himself.

He asked me what I do for a living.  I told him that I help people get well in their Mind-Body-Spirit.  He asked me what I would tell someone like him whose really stressed, due to constantly “taking work home with him!”  I told Daniel that at the core of who he is, he’s a spiritual being of light and love, nothing is wrong with him.  Daniel, the person standing in front of me, is a character in this movie called life.  What Daniel doesn’t know, is that he has an ego that sounds just like him.  The ego is constantly causing him to think about the pain from the past and worries about the future!  Which makes it impossible to stay present where peace and happiness is.  He asked me what he can do about this!  I told him, the spiritual being that he really is, needs to constantly live in awareness of Daniel’s thoughts.  When he hears negative thoughts, he needs to throw them out, and replace them with the truth that everything works out, it’s important to no longer come into agreement with those stressful thoughts!

He was really thankful for my insight and advice and it seemed to be the end of our conversation, therefore I headed to my seat.  He then started asking me questions about marriage, my opinion on drugs and all kinds of topics.  I asked Daniel what his passion was.  He said he had a goal to better himself, have multiple streams of income and buy a Rolls Royce!  He felt like when that happens “he’s arrived!”  I know however, like all of us, he’s here to help humanity.  Only then will he really experience the fulfillment he longs for.  I asked him what it is about humanity that he absolutely hates or wants to change.  He said, he can’t stand it when people in need of money, receive handouts.  He feels they should be offered jobs instead and in fact, that’s what he often does.

I told Daniel, his passion is to be an entrepreneur, to have multiple businesses so he can train people in need and offer them a job.  His face lit up, he said, “That’s incredible, you said everything I feel!”  I told him, “look at that, now you know your passion, so get busy, humanity needs you! ”  When I was checking out, I said,”thank you!”  He said, “No, THANK YOU, with a big smile!”

When unfortunate events happen, we no longer need to get upset.  We just need to remind ourselves, everything works out and in the process, something great just might happen, if we maintain a positive, open mindset!
