Ditch The Tree and Come Home!

What is suffering? The simple answer; thoughts and beliefs!

The peace that passes all understanding, that so many are searching for is beyond thoughts and beliefs, and yet we continually seek to find the answers to our suffering in the next book, the next speaker the next guru!

Many people think meditation is battling to keep the thoughts away, so that they can come into some semblance of peace. When the truth is, we are the peace behind those thoughts and beliefs. Meditation should be viewed as a home coming.

There’s this passage in the very first book of the Bible that says, “we can eat of every tree of the garden (of Eden) but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die!”

When I was a church going Christian I could never understand why it would be wrong to it from a tree that gives you knowledge of what’s good and what’s evil. This week I received the answer!

“When my children eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they are eating dualism, consuming the idea that they can be separate from me and one another. That they are “special.” That they have a litmus test in which they can judge what is right and what is wrong, what is good and evil. They virtually enter a state within their mind where they are no longer love, but the accuser of the brethren. This tormented state, covering their unified mind is fear.”

It’s time to give up the tree and come home, realizing we have been viewing everything with the lens of The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The way we start giving up the tree, is to first start developing a relationship with Spirit, by doing Spiritual Heart Surgery on anything that is bothering you.

  1. Make a list of the things that are bothering you!
  2. Pick the one that is bothering you the most and grab your journal!
  3. Write out the situation:
  4. Write out how it’s affecting you and how you’ve been trying to cope:
  5. Ask Holy Spirit the truth, about that situation at that time, the truth about you at that time and the truth about the other person at that time. Write out the anwers that come to your mind, believing it is Spirit talking to you, they are not your own thoughts.
  6. Write out, “With these truths, this is how I will move forward:

The other step in giving up The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is to start questioning the things that you’ve been taught, but are struggling to believe. Seek the truth from Holy Spirit and you will find it.

Welcome to your home coming journey my friend, the freedom from judgement and dualism is indescribable!
