The cross is a symbol of dualism/separation or believing we are a body! The Course in Miracles says, “The cross is the perfect symbol of conflict between the ego and the son of God.”
Jesus dying on the cross is a perfect picture of the willingness we must have to shed a false identity and an egotistical body. Knowing the body is an illusion and what can be destroyed is not real!
“Anything that is destructible cannot be real” A Course In Miracles
The tomb represents the dark night of the soul or the willingness to go within ourselves, do the inner work and heal the damage the egotistical mind has caused. The result is the removal of blockages and veils to our true eternal selves of light/love.
The resurrection is the symbol of newness of life. The unveiling of Christ within our true self. The indestructible – eternal spirit.
“The crucifixion was the last foolish journey that the sonship needs to take, and that it should mean release from fear to everyone who understands it.” A Course In Miracles
“Your resurrection is your reawakening!”
The disciples of Jesus projected their fear and guilt onto God and made Him out to be a wrathful God, needing a sacrifice for our sins. But the truth is, they were not fully willing to give up their ego at that time and follow Jesus. That’s why Jesus told them that, “there was much they would understand later!” Meaning they could not understand the symbolism of the crucifixion because of their egos and neither can we until we are willing to die to the egotistical self and surrender it’s beliefs.
With our own minds veiled, we missed what the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was all about and took what the blinded disciples taught, as the gospel of truth. Believing Jesus’ teachings were about a crucifixion needed for payment of sins rather than an awakening to what we are in Christ.
“No one is punished for sins, and the sons of God are not sinners!” A Course In Miracles
We are asleep in a dream of separation, needing an awakening. This is the Easter message. As we celebrate Easter let us be grateful to Jesus for the Great Awakening!
“But when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible. For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!” Ephesians 5:13-14
See your egotistical mind of separation and be willing to give it up, so you can awaken to what you really are; a spiritual being of light/love, made in the image of God!
