We all want some secret formula or method that we can use to live happily ever after! The truth is, no ones journey is ever simple and easy! Back in 2000 we separated for a year due to lies I was believing and infidelity.
We reconciled 2 days before our divorce was to be final by taking a trip to Las Vegas to renew our vows and promise to never separate again. This happened because I cried out to God and gave him my life and asked him what he wanted me to do, he said “go home!” I didn’t want to, I didn’t feel like it, but I did it!
That pretty much sums up a successful marriage. Every day is about intentionally loving your spouse the way they feel loved! Even if you don’t want to or don’t feel like it, always putting their needs before your own. This is how God uses marriage to conform us into his image, teaching us to submit out of love to one another as the trinity does to each other!
