When I hear these four words; “I’m questioning my faith” from a new or returning client, I get very excited. Because I know what they are essentially saying is;
“I’m in a place where my mind is opening!
I’m seeking answers!
I’m ready to do the work of deconstruction/reconstruction!”
What they are ultimately seeking is to transform and shift from one mindset to another.
This journey they are about to embark upon is not easy or for the faint of heart. They will have to passionately desire freedom in order to succeed. Just like it says in the Bible; “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind!” This is what Jesus’ – A Course in Miracles is all about; transforming the mind so we can understand His true message of oneness, that will set us free.
4 Key Elements Needed For The Journey
As we set out on our journey, we will have to make sure we have 4 Key Elements: A strong intention, dedication, persistence and a willingness to stay consistent.
Progression Through Awakening
Traveling this path myself and then helping others to do the same, I see a progression through awakening;
2. We begin to question some of the teachings we received about the Bible, but our ego quickly excuses it away as “God’s ways are higher than our ways!”
3. After awhile, maybe many years or even decades, we are no longer willing to excuse away questions, and we set out on a journey looking for answers, which will require us to look outside of the church. As a result we begin to find plausible answers to our questions, even though they are not in alignment with the teachings of the church. For me this was Jesus’ teachings in A Course In Miracles!
4. During this phase, many of us tend to go through a time of feeling; disillusionment, disappointment, and often discouragement as we realize we were wrong about everything. It’s vitally important that we press in to our Inner Guidance and pull strength from The Divine, knowing we are on the right path, while also using our “4 Key Elements (Intention, Dedication, Persistence, Consistency)!”
5. Humbled; we continue on our journey realizing we’ve completely missed Jesus’ message of being one in The Divine. We may feel a great sense of frustration with ourselves and also our Biblical teachers. This is when forgiveness, compassion and empathy will need to come into play in order to avoid growing bitter, while also being able to continue on with the journey of awakening.
6. We find rest, and comfort in knowing that the Bible was written from an Eastern mindset filled with symbolism of the awakening journey of our oneness in Christ Consciousness. Now the Bible begins to make complete sense. Our questions are not only answered, a new level of understanding is achieved!
