Motivation is Key!

A compelling sense of motivation is the most important ingredient for every intention that we set!

It’s what we will turn back to over and over, to sustain us through the egotistical attacks of laziness, discouragement and feelings of being apathetic.

When I taught a Healthy and Free Class years ago, I would always try and help the students come up with their; “Powerful Why’s” for motivation.

Their lists would consist of:

For my kids!

To feel and look good!

Have energy so I can enjoy life!

To be fit and healthy, rather than sick and diseased!

But none of these great reasons was enough to sustain them through the egotistical attacks in their mind.

I’ve come to realize, that the “Powerful Why’s” that we tend to come up with, are what we think will bring us happiness. But the truth is that true happiness can only be found in knowing and being our True Self.

Therefore if we identify the True Self as fit and healthy, we will eat healthy, practice self control, exercise, supplement etc.

If we identify our True Self as financially successful, we will; save, budget, pay off debt, work on having multiple streams of income.

If we identify our True Self as having strong healthy relationships, we will; make quality time, be intentional to call/text/visit, we will be open honest, and transparent, along with creating a safe space for others.

If we identify our True Self as educated, we will; take time to learn, read, enroll in classes, study maybe get a degree or certificate.

If we identify our True Self as a world traveler, we will; save for trips, plan trips and make our self go.

If we identify our True Self as spiritual, we will; make time to heal our trauma, connect with the Divine, study spiritual texts etc.

If we identify our True Self as being peaceful, we will; live in awareness of our thoughts, feelings and emotions, setting an intention to lovingly respond, rather than to react from our ego.

If we identity our True Self as being kind, helpful, encouraging, supportive and generous, we will look for opportunities to extend these through kind words and actions.

I believe most people have good intentions and may even start many of these. But those of us that succeed, know what we are and are continually aligning our life with what we are. This is the motivation we turn back to on our journey called life.
