At about 6 months old, we begin to construct the separation prison of our mind. We start experiencing and believing that we are just a weak, helpless, fearful human! In this prison we experience every aspect of the ego: Fear, Anger, Stress, Anxiety, Doubt, Worry, Un-forgiveness, Bitterness, Resentment, Co-dependency, Comparison, Expectations, Judgements, Depression, Grief, etc.
Guiding people out of the darkness of the prison of their mind and into the light, I’ve come to realize that although we all tend to deal with many aspects of the ego, there is one major aspect that each of us, struggles with. It’s this one aspect that’s the hardest to see and yet yields the most power over us. For some this is: fear of rejection, fear of loss, fear of not being or having enough, fear of giving up power/control, fear of not being special-loved-wanted-needed, fear of being hurt, fear of failure, fear of being deceived, fear of being unworthy, fear of being alone, and on and on and on!
What most people don’t know, is that they have always had Divine guidance within them to over come this major aspect of the ego. Being unaware of the Divine within us, we learn to lean into the egotistical mind for guidance rather than the Divine. The “major ego aspect” is what I call our cancer. Each one of these cancers has many tormenting and destructive tenticles that need to be seen, and healed so the cancer can be dissolved. We will never have peace as long as we let this aspect of our ego rule our life, because it robs us of who we really are.
Most people don’t turn from the ego’s guidance unto the Divine’s guidance until they come to the end of themselves and above all else want peace. This is when they are willing to go through the transformation process:
This is what Jesus meant when he was talking about being born again in John 3 of the Bible. Which is honestly the hardest thing to do.
There’s seems to be a growing trend in Spirituality that we just need to heal our trauma and move on. I’m here to say, that’s just the beginning of healing. Once the trauma is healed, must start attacking the ego, know what we are in the Divine and surrender the cancer, that has fueled our life.
