How did these Millennials see that the American dream is a night mare? They saw it by watching their parents work endlessly to barely provide, never having time to pursue their dreams. Watching their parents struggle to find time to even be able to really live.
Millennials were born with a passion to think outside the box, to never accept the status quo! They are not afraid to take chances, go off and explore the world or to even fail! In fact, they find adventure and fun in the failures.
Their passion, curiosity and bravery, is exactly what this world needed to start a revival. I would say this revival, is nothing like we ever imagined or expected. This is a revival to believe God’s word wholeheartedly regardless of our experiences. To believe God’s power so much, that even though they may not have been raised in a home or church where healing, prophecies and miracles were ever seen or demonstrated, they were willing to be the ones to be made a fool of and claim the power given to them at the cross! They command sickness, disease and demons to leave, and as a result the world is changing! No longer do we need to stand on a street corner yelling at people, telling them they are going to hell. But rather we can just demonstrate God’s love for them, in a tangible way and the people want to know Jesus.
When my son wanted to go to a church that believed in the filling and power of the Holy Spirit, my religious, God in a box self wanted to say “no way,” but when I asked God he said “let him go!” This one simple step of obedience changed the course of our lives. Everything I do, every ministry I’m in, every relationship I have and even my business, is fully led by the Holy Spirit.
In closing I want to say, Millennials are leading the way in revival, they are reviving our dreams, our belief in the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit. They are reviving the world to take a risk, even if it doesn’t make sense to us, or we’ve never seen it done or experienced it, they encourage us to take God at his word and go after the transforming power of the gospel. The Millennials are freeing us from religion!
