We spend our entire lives in search of peace! Relationships would rank at the top of the delusional concept that having a significant other, will result in peace. Early on, we are mostly convinced material possessions is where it’s at. I’m often reminded of this lie, as I watch my 2 year old grandson clutching a toy and yelling “mine!”
As we enter school, sports, religion, we learn there are rules, “keep the rules and everything will go well for you, break them and there are consequences to pay.” Along with rules, entering a community of people, comes with some unspoken beliefs such as, “being popular will cause you to feel loved, wanted and needed.” Once we enter the work field, we’re convinced that peace and happiness must come from dedication and hard work.
Where ever we go, whatever we do, we ultimately believe the root of peace, is to feel loved, wanted and needed. This is why so many people continue to go to church, rather than to be the church. Institutional churches only require that you follow their rules. In order to be the church, you must follow Holy Spirit’s guidance, (that still small voice,) none of us like to follow, because we think it means sacrifice.
Following Holy Spirit’s guidance’s is literally giving up our egotistical will and desires for God’s will. To go to church, you really don’t have to give up anything to feel loved, wanted and needed. You simply have to learn the game and play it. There is a price of course and it’s guilt, shame and fear.
There is only one path to peace, the narrow path of surrendering the egotistical will for God’s will. It seems at first that you are losing things you love, but eventually you’ll realize they were nothing but toys that lead you to a miserable hell on earth.
You are a spiritual being, not a body.
You are made in the image of God who is perfect love.
You are the light of the world.
You are the fruit of the Spirit, because of your oneness with Holy Spirit.
This is why Jesus said, “you’ll do greater things than I did,” “You are gods,” The Kingdom of Heaven is within you!” Religion robs us of our true identity and convinces us that we are just sinful human beings.
If peace is not your reality, than it’s a sign you are living a false identity and therefore a false reality. It’s also a sign that you have a lot of work to do on your mind. You must continue to heal the hurts, wounds, lies and trauma, that are causing you to suffer from stress, anxiety, doubts, worries and fears, which are veiling what you are in Christ.
