One of the biggest hurdles I’ve had to over come on this healthy journey and now I see my clients struggling with, is eating out, going to parties, BBQ’s or some other social event.
I’m here to tell you from experience, with a little preparation you can over come the temptations and eat healthy in challenging situations.
The first thing you should do, is to eat before you go! Make yourself a healthy meal filled with veggies and protein. You will walk in to the party feeling empowered because you have removed the power the food has over you! If you’re still get tempted, stop and ask yourself if that dessert is going to help you get to your goal, if not, don’t eat it!
If you’re going to a party you can also bring a fruit or veggie platter that you can munch on instead of the chips and sweets!
Preparing to go to a restaurant takes a little different preparation. You’ll need to go online and study the menu, find things you can eat that are gluten free. Most restaurants have a low calorie section on their menu that is usually healthier than the rest of the menu, focus on that section. This will also help you to over come frustration while at the restaurant!
As eating healthy becomes a life style rather than a diet, people will begin to ask why you’re eating so healthy and passing on the dessert. This is a great opportunity to share your healthy journey and inspire them to do the same.
